How you can help:

Make a Donation
CSAW cannot continue to provide support to this incredible group of young women without help from donors like you!  Write a check to Community of Sudanese and American Women/Men (CSAW) and mail it to: P.O. Box 3217, Boulder, CO 80307. All donations are tax deductible.
Join CSAW
Please contact Jane Sovndal at sovndal@csawcolorado.org to join our group of wonderful volunteers. If you would like to be involved with a specific CSAW project, please include your area of interest in your message. Descriptions of CSAW projects are given below.

Ongoing CSAW Projects

Fundraising

To help with the significant costs of resettlement, CSAW has set an annual fundraising goal of $250,000.

Public Relations

We need volunteers to help us get the word out about upcoming CSAW events and news, through the local media, the CSAW Web site and written materials.

Housing

If you have independent housing that might be available for 6 months as preliminary housing for the refugees, please contact us. Reasonable rent can be paid. CSAW is not looking for rooms within homes at this time, rather apartments, condos or houses that are near public transportation and shopping. Ideally the homes would be clustered so the refugees are near each other.

Donate Furniture and Household Items

Because of the incredible generosity of our Boulder community, CSAW is not looking for donations of household items or clothing at this time.

Health care

CSAW aims to provide a safe environment for addressing physical and mental health care issues of the Sudanese women and children in Boulder. The dignity of all the refugees is respected as health-related information and access to health care are provided.

Jobs

CSAW helps the women find jobs in the local area.

Transportation

Through training provided by Special Transit, CSAW will help familiarize the women and children with RTD bus routes, and if possible, provide transportation to them when needed.

Education

CSAW will find appropriate education for the refugees including ESL, K-12 and college classes.
